The suspected shooter of notorious Melbourne underworld figure Gavin \u201cCapable\u201d Preston, who was killed in a daylight ambush attack at a Keilor cafe last month, has been arrested in Sydney.<\/p>\n
Victoria Police confirmed on Wednesday morning a 22-year-old man was arrested without incident in an early morning raid in Bradbury, in south-west Sydney, and will now be interviewed.<\/p>\n

The footage has been edited to exclude some moments<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWarrants were executed by Victoria Police and NSW Police from 6am on October 25 at residential properties in Bradbury, Yagoona and Campbelltown,\u201d the police statement said.<\/p>\n \u201cToday\u2019s arrest and warrants follow an incident outside a cafe in Keilor on 9 September where one man was killed and one was seriously injured.\u201d<\/p>\n Terrified brunch patrons jumped for their lives as a killer dressed in black ran up to a cafe on a quiet suburban shopping strip in Keilor Village, in Melbourne\u2019s north-west, and fired at Preston while he sat at a table on the footpath.<\/p>\n The 50-year-old died while the man he was dining with, Abbas Jr \u201cAJ\u201d Maghnie, the son of late underworld enforcer Nabil Maghnie, was seriously injured.<\/p>\n Preston, who had been waging bloody feuds with rivals in Melbourne\u2019s gangland scene, was released from prison earlier this year after serving a long sentence over the shooting death of a drug trafficker.<\/p>\n More to come.<\/strong><\/p>\n Coming soon: John Silvester lifts the lid on Australia\u2019s criminal underworld. <\/i><\/b>Subscribers can sign up to receive his Naked City newsletter every Thursday.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\nMost Viewed in National<\/h2>\n
