Newly released surveillance footage shows an unidentified brute slugging a 71-year-old man in a random attack in the Bronx early Saturday.

The video, released by the NYPD Sunday, shows the attacker punch the elderly victim in the face on Southern Boulevard around 6:45 a.m., sending the man flying into the street —

The suspect then casually walks down East 187th Street.

Police released the video in an attempt to identify the thug, who is described as a 25- to 30-year-old man, wearing dark clothes and a dark baseball cap, according to police.

The victim was treated at Lincoln Hospital for a gash to the face and released.

Police are asking anyone who can identify the suspect to contact the NYPD at 800-577-TIPS or contact crime stoppers.
