The UK’s love affair with a takeaway is well known – and over the past 12 months it appears as if Brits are becoming more adventurous than ever.
Deliveroo has revealed their 30 top trending items ordered this year, with some groceries even making the list.
Deliveroo say that the demand for supermarket items has continued to grow since they started appearing on the website in 2020.
Those in Birmingham seem to enjoy their semi-skimmed milk from Morrisons, as it ranked number 18 in the UK.

London remains the chicken-loving city in the UK, as 33 per cent of the top 30 list containing popular chicken meals ordered within the capital.
These include the Chicken Ruby from Dishoom, 8 boneless pieces from Wingstop and the harissa chicken from Farmer J.
A third of Londoners said they would most likely order chicken wings if they were having a takeout lunch.
The popular delivery service also revealed the popular things Brits requested when they placed their order.
Some of which include asking for no tomatoes, no pickles, requesting the food is made ‘extra spicy’ and asking for their dish to have salt and vinegar on it.
Fries have remained the most popular side across the UK – but London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton were the top cities who ordered the fried potato.
Ketchup has remained the sauce of choice, but mayonnaise has been knocked off its pedestal by garlic mayo.

First you choose a main protein source such as chicken, yellowfin tuna, salmon or even plant-based chicken.
Then you can choose an unlimited number of ‘base’ ingredients such as sushi rice, brown rice, quinoa, mixed leaves and ‘summer’ kale.

The Build Your Own Poke Bowl also ranked third in the top 100 trending dishes worldwide.

Aberdeen: Burrito from FreshMex
It seems Scots in Aberdeen enjoy tucking into Mexican cuisine after a long day.
