Tonight’s installment of Hollyoaks Favourites will feature one of the soap’s most infamous stunts – the fatal train crash.
Hollyoaks have been airing classic episodes to make up for the fact that they’ve cut back on new episodes since coronavirus has halted production.
For anyone looking for a quick memory refresh, read on, because here’s a quick rundown of what happens and who dies in the episode.
Who died in the train crash on Hollyoaks?
Poor Carmel McQueen (Gemma Merna) and Sonny Valentine (Aaron Fontaine) both lost their lives in the train crash episode.
These scenes, which were first shown in 2014, see the McQueen family board the party-train for Porsche and Lockie’s wedding, only to find that their happy day had been derailed as a vengeful Sonny Valentine had smuggled himself onboard.
As if that’s not enough drama, Sienna and Maxine’s car broke down on the tracks, as the ill-fated train hurtled towards them…
Even when the episode first aired, people knew the train disaster imminent, as show bosses had teased that the massive stunt was incoming.
Indeed it seemed pretty heavily hinted that Carmel was going to be one of the casualties of the crash, since it came out that she’d been stealing kids and pretty much her whole family ended up cursing the ground she walked on.
But in the end, it was her heroism which saved Theresa – who was held hostage by Sonny – but ultimately doomed her to a tragic demise.
Hollyoaks Favourites is next on tonight at 7pm.
