The highly-anticipated hour-long documentary is coming to screens much sooner than expected. 

The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship will arrive on Saturday, May 1 on the BBC iPlayer.

The entire documentary will air on Wednesday, May 5 at 9pm on BBC Two.

The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship delves deep into the life of Britney Spears.

The hour-long film will focus on the conservatorship Brintey has been under for the last 13 years and follows   BAFTA award-winning journalist Mobeen Azhar as he travels across the US f from Los Angeles to Britney’s hometown of  Kentwood, Louisiana searching for answers.

Along the way, Mobeen will interview those closest to Britney in her personal and professional life.

In 2008, Britney was put under a conservatorship by her father, Jamie Spears following a public breakdown. 

Despite multiple successful comebacks, including several albums, a Las Vegas residency and several business ventures, Britney still remains under the conservatorship.

“He sets out to speak to those on both sides of the fence surrounding the still-unfolding story of one of pop’s biggest ever superstars.

“The film includes never-before-seen interviews with Britney’s makeup artist Billy Brasfield, her former choreographer Brian Friedman, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and lawyer Lisa MacCarley among others.”
