The Voice UK’s Brooke spills whether live show will go ahead amid coronavirus

The Voice UK star Brooke Scullion made it through to the live shows after a nail-biting knockouts round at the weekend.

The Irish singing siren, 21, won a place in the final after her stunning performance of Rihanna's hit Stay, but with the current coronavirus pandemic cancelling the lives, her dreams were suddenly dashed.

Brooke revealed her true feelings about Covid-19 cancelling the next stages of the competition, and whether the live shows will in fact go ahead after all.

She told Daily Star Online exclusively about when she found out: "I mean, ideally I'd hoped for the best [lives go ahead] and thought it would be a reduced crew and that maybe there would be no live audience.

"But unfortunately, we got a message from production being like 'look just wait by your phones for the next while'.

"We got the call and they were so apologetic and it's not their fault so… I was gutted but I wasn't gutted you know."

When asked if she's been told when the live shows will happen, Brooke revealed: "They said they hope for it to be in the summer.

"I don't know if that'll be the case, we wouldn't want to leave it that long.

"I'll be upset, I'll be dying to get on that stage again so it'll be amazing."

The star continued saying that she hopes with the show's sudden cancellation, it will make fans excited for when it makes a comeback.

She said: "You know the way they say absence makes the heart grow fonder?"

Recalling her relationship with coach Meghan Trainor, Brooke spilled some behind the scenes secrets about her coach texting her about Covid-19.

She said: "She text me before anyone actually, like I never told anybody but she text me there before we were meant to do the live and she's like 'yo I don't think I'm going to come over' because then she'd get stuck here.

"I was like not going to say anything because everyone would go into panic mode but then it was cancelled obviously after that.

She would be like we'd be friends you know what I mean like she would tell me things behind the producers and all.
