The Supervet has returned to Channel 4 for another series and Noel Fitzpatrick has been put through his paces once more with some difficult operations. The TV show follows Professor Fitzpatrick and his skilled team at Fitzpatrick Referrals. Fans are keen to find out how much it costs to attend the practice.
How much does The Supervet charge?
The Supervet has sent fans on another emotional rollercoaster as surgeon Fitzpatrick is faced with some difficult decisions.
In the latest episode, he helped a cat called Driver who was injured in a road traffic accident.
Sharing a photo of himself with the feline friend on Twitter, he said: “Meet my mate Driver. An independent fellow who got caught up in a bad traffic accident which left him with significant hip and knee injuries… But this feisty fella isn’t giving up without a fight. See his story tonight on #Supervet @Channel4 8pm.”
In another post, he said: “Driver had been through the wars – and this tough independent fellow is also a super snuggle monster, with a devoted loving family who want to give him his quality of life back #supervet.”
The surgeon is known for performing some trailblazing operations, that are life-changing for the pets involved.
Where is The Supervet’s surgery?
Noel’s practice is located in Surrey and there are two branches – Eashing for Orthopaedics and Neurology and Guildford for Oncology and Soft Tissue.
Pet owners will need to have been referred to him especially in order to attend the clinic.
On the surgery website, Noel spoke in a video about the ethos behind the hospital, saying: “I started this practice in my head, a long time before it happened in reality.
“I needed to borrow a bit of money to get to the point we are at today, but all I ever wanted since I was a kid was to make a place where the animals in my little bit of the universe would be safe, would be at peace, and would get hope and redemption from the medicine or the love that we were giving them.”
There is an online document from 2019 for Orthopaedics and Neurology price listings.
An initial orthopaedic consultation is priced at £210, with a repeat consultation costing £115.
These prices can be compared to other veterinary surgeries in the UK, that offer the same initial consultation for £192, and a follow up is £82.
The prices at Fitzpatrick Referrals may be a little more expensive, but pet owners are more than willing to pay out.
Knowing how successful and revolutionary his work has been, they cannot put a price on his care and support.
With this in mind, attending the surgery comes at a hefty price, due to his level of skill.
The near-impossible operations do not come cheap, and sometimes they are a last resort for pet owners.
According to Money Supermarket, the average price of a vet consultation in the UK is £60.
The Fitzpatrick Referrals website says prices are “competitive”, and there is a rough price guide.
At this moment in time, the web page seems to be broken, so no prices can be seen.
Recently, Noel gave fans insight into a tragic period of his life when his beloved dog, Keira, was hit by a car outside the surgery.
In a special documentary called The Supervet: Saving My Dog, he took it upon himself to perform life-saving surgery on his pet.
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts over the emotional episode, with one saying: “Gave myself a migraine from crying so much at the supervet special.”
Another said: “The Supervet: Saving My Own Dog what a genius @ProfNoelFitz is and little Keira is super cute, so glad she’s ok.”
The Supervet airs on Channel 4.
