The Kourtney and Kim Kardashian Feud Is the Only Thing Keeping Me Going Right Now

It’s pretty impossible to feel normal right now. With everyone hunkering down inside to self-quarantine, you might be feeling like the world is a more unstable place than it’s ever been before. And that’s understandable. But in these trying times, there’s one thing we can all rely on: Kardashian family drama. And right now, the only thing keeping me going has been watching the Kourtney and Kim feud unfold on national television.

As a quick backstory, the feud in question really started way back in 2018. The basic gist is that, for two years now, Kourtney has wanted to take a step back from filming the show. Kim and co. are not super thrilled with that, and that general difference of opinion has caused all sorts of little tiffs and fights along the way, including the infamous “You’re the least interesting to look at” comment from one Kimberly Noel Kardashian. You can find an exhaustive timeline of this feud here. In the season 18 premiere, Kourtney and Kim got into what can only be described as a catfight. A brawl, if you will.

I don’t usually find delight in women fighting other women, but something about this feud has kept me so entertained. I mean, you’re watching two rich girls fight about a reality TV show! What’s not to like? Yes, there are so many other things happening in the world right now that are actually important. I’m just saying if you’re looking for a delightful distraction from what’s happening around you, let the Kardashian sisters provide it via amateur-level girl slaps and nail digging. This is reality TV at its best: A totally ridiculous way to escape your own life for half an hour and soak in someone else’s drama. If Kim decking Kourtney in the face is what gets you to forget about the scariness of this moment, by all means, go forth and binge!

What makes this palatable to watch is that we know at the end of the day, these girls are just fine. They actually love each other. We’ve seen countless examples of that. And it does’t hurt that they have enough money to be set for the rest of their lives even if they stopped filming the show today. Around Christmas, Kim even went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and basically said it’s going to be hard to watch this feud happen on TV because it’s gotten so much better IRL.

So you’re watching a conflict that has mostly been resolved, which means you don’t have to feel bad for anyone on either side. You can watch this episode of Bad Girls Club Lite and enjoy the total frivolity of a fight about whether or not one sister wants to continue filming a reality TV show because of the absurdity. I mean, one of the women from Mob Wives even performed commentary on the confrontation on her Instagram. The fact that it’s so unrelatable is what makes it enjoyable.

The world is a scary place, but for 18 seasons now, the Kardashian family has been giving the world gossip fodder, and it doesn’t look like they’re stopping anytime soon. It’s good to know some things never change.
