Nina and Neil’s samba scored a respectable 24 from the judges for their first performance on this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing. Talking to Rylan Clark-Neal on Tuesday’s episode of It Takes Two, the couple revealed they’ll be attempting some risky moves when the BBC ballroom competition continues this Saturday.
Nina Wadia has issued a warning to her dancing partner Neil Jones for their next Strictly routine.
After debuting with a satisfactory samba, they’ll be tackling the tango when series 19 continues this weekend.
The couple appeared on Tuesday’s episode of It Takes Two and went over how they’re faring in the competition so far.
The former EastEnders star will be trying out a Tango for their next performance.
In order to get into character for the romantic dance, Nina revealed she’s been adopting an alter-ego, ‘Valentina’, who often comes out in rehearsals.
It Takes Two host Rylan asked: “So what Nina are we gonna get this week?”
“I don’t know,” the actress admitted. “I’ll have to find a character for the tango.”
She went on and said her Valentina persona may even be too ‘fierce’ for Saturday’s show.
Pro dancer Neil Jones then probed his partner, asking if he could meet the character she’ll be embodying the day before the big night.
“No!” Nina protested. “You have to bring it on the night.”
Rylan also supported the element of surprise, prompting Neil to let out a worried sigh.
He then looked aghast when Nina shared her advice for the next show.

She told Rylan: “And he needs to wear a cricket box on the night.
“Just so he understands,” she added, prompting a gobsmacked reaction from Neil.
Nina’s confession her partner might need to wear some groin protection could be a sign of some tricky manoeuvres to come on Saturday night.
Neil’s partner held his arm and laughed while he turned to Rylan looking shocked.
In retaliation, he suggested some hasty changes to their routine to prevent any nasty accidents.
“I think I might have to take those kicks out,” he joked.
Hopefully the couple perfect their risky moves by Saturday night and pull off their daring tango without a hitch.
Strictly Come Dancing continues every Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
