Money Heist viewers were keen to see what happened next in the tense Netflix show, as season three’s conclusion saw Tokyo (played by Ursula Corbero) and Rio (Miguel Herran) destroying a tank and locking themselves in the Bank of Spain while Nairobi (Alba Flores) was fighting for her life after being shot by a sniper. Season four picked straight up from this point and the gang tried to get the heist back on track. However, at the same time, Arturo (Enrique Arce) continued to stir up trouble amongst the hostages.

At one point, Arturo was seen giving a nervous hostage, Amanda, some pills to help calm her down.
Taking her to the side of the bank, he told her to lie down and take four pills so she could sleep.
As she did so, she passed out incredibly quickly and viewers saw Arturo go on to try and touch her inappropriately.
Amanda later realised what had happened to her and shouted at Arturo for raping her – although he denied it and claimed she was groggy from the pills.

The bizarre storyline took up much of season four with regards to the hostages’ storyline and fans were far from impressed and insisted he should have been cut from the series.
Speaking out on Reddit, one fan furious announced: “Should have removed all scenes related to Arturito.
“I mean, he should have been simply thrown out of the main gate. So that more time will be there to focus on the main story.”
While some viewers were calling for the character to be removed from the situation, others were calling for the character to be killed off.
One fan announced: “Am I the only one who wants to peel Arturo’s skin with a nail cutter?”
Other viewers pointed out Arturo’s arc throughout season four simply made a horrific character even worse.
“What was the point of Arturo’s arc…? Like they made a horrible person even worse but for what purpose?” a third raged.
Another said: “I think we can all agree that Arturo in Money Heist is without a doubt the worst character in existence.”
A furious fan added: “The real villain in Money Heist (La Casa De Papel) is not Alicia Sierra, not Alfonso Prieto but, it’s the f*****g rapist, Arturo Roman. I wanna burn him alive.” (sic)
Thankfully, fans of the show will supposedly be able to see the story’s conclusion, as some Spanish publications have reported a fifth and sixth season.
Script coordinator Javier Gomez Santander told publication El Mundo: “With La Casa De Papel, we go game by game, like Simeone.
“Chapter by chapter, sequence by sequence, line by line.
- Money Heist season 5 release date: Will there be another series?
“We do not ever consider how long the show can last. If we got to know the scope of the phenomenon, we wouldn’t have thought to kill Berlin.”
Money Heist executive Alex Pina added that viewers may be able to expect spin-offs in the future.
He told Oprah magazine: “We do have many possibilities for some spinoffs, yes, and I think that’s thanks to the strong and powerful identities of the characters. We’ve always looked for characters to have a very complex, layered design.”
Money Heist season 1-4 is available to stream on Netflix now.
