Samael had rebelled against his father and as a result, he was cast out of Heaven.
As part of his punishment, he was appointed to be the ruler of Hell and to punish the souls of deceased sinners for all eternity.
Lucifer built up a fearful reputation known by many names, he Devil, Satan, Old Scratch, Abaddon, Beelzebub, and Belial.
In Abrahamic religions, fallen angels are those who have been expelled from Heaven.
However, the term fallen angels does not appear in either the Bible or Abrahamic scriptures.
Samael is an archangel in Jewish theology, mentioned in The Talmud, the central text of Rabbinic Judaism and Jewish religious law.
He is the angel of death and ruler of fifth Heaven who condones the sin of men on Earth.
Usually, Samael is related to the Christian idea of Satan but according to The Talmud, he is not always evil as he is credited with good purposes, such as destroying sinners.
In some strands of Christianity, Lucifer became the name associated with an archangel before he fell from Heaven to Hell and became Satan, the ruler of hell.

Lucifer first originated in Isaiah 14:12 (Old Testament) about the downfall of the King of Babylon.
The name Lucifer originated from Latin astrology and is associated with the morning star Venus.
The term Lucifer means “bringing light” and derives from the Latin terms “lux” meaning light and ferre “to bring.”
The planet Venus usually appears in the morning, which is where Lucifer’s second name “Morningstar” comes from.
