Im A Celeb baffled as sulking Phil Tufnell claims he doesnt hold grudges

I'm A Celebrity…South Africa viewers have been left laughing as cricketer Phil Tufnell claims he "doesn't hold grudges" against his camp mates, just 24 hours after sulking for being selected for a trial.

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph the day after being forced to compete in two trials in one day, Phil told viewers that he didn't hold grudges and "life is too short" – a far cry from his bad tempered mood the day before.

His claims left viewers in stitches as they recalled his sulky behaviour after being forced to do a task with pal Joe Swash as none of his fellow camp mates picked him to be saved.

Phil's sulking session went on all day with fellow celebrity Paul Burrell worried he'd truly upset the sports star.

Just 24 hours later Phil spoke out in the Bushtucker Telegraph as he said: "I was a little bit hurt yesterday I must admit, just about not being saved by any of me pals.

"But I don't hold any grudges or anything like that. I never do, life's too short for things like that so we'll just crack on and just get on with things."

Viewers took to social media as they shared their delight at Phil's U-turn from his sulky mood the day before.

One wrote: "Phil: I don’t hold grudges Also Phil: continues to complain about nobody saving him yesterday."

Another added: "don't hold grudges. except the whole day phil."

"Why is Phil Tufnell such a sore loser? It’s embarrassing. Another spoilt, selfish celebrity!" wrote a third.

A fourth said: ""I don’t hold grudges” … but I might sulk for 24 hours when I don’t get picked for the team. Tuffers 2023."

Phil's sore mood came after camp mates were asked to 'save' another celebrity from being ejected from camp after another trial, with Joe Swash and Phil Tufnell selected by the last vote from Paul Burrell.

Paul chose sportsman Phil to take on the task alongside Joe, leaving the cricketer visibly fuming. Smarting from not being picked, Phil sulked in the Bush Telegraph immediately after as he told viewers at home: "I was a bit hurt to be honest by all my pals, nobody saved me."

After returning to camp alone as pal Joe went home, Phil snubbed Paul and didn't speak to him with the former royal aide noticing he was getting the cold shoulder from his fellow camp mate.

Speaking to Olympian Fatima Whitbread, Paul whispered: "He's not spoken one word to me since he got back. Not one word."
