A FORMER BBC journalist has revealed how she has changed careers after being axed from BBC News.
Joanna Gosling was one of three journalists who left the channel at the start of the year amid the BBC's plan to merge its international and UK news channels.
Joanna took voluntary redundancy alongside David Eades and Tim Willcox after 23 years with the broadcaster, and became emotional during her final broadcast in January.
Now, she has secured a new role away from the world of journalism as a Senior Associate Mediator at legal and financial advisor firm Irwin Mitchell.
A post on the official Irwin Mitchell account read: "We’re delighted to welcome @JoannaGTWeets, joining Irwin Mitchell as a Senior Associate #Mediator.
"The former BBC News presenter is passionate about mediation and supporting clients and will be working with our #FamilyTeam to grow our mediation practice."

Joanna was quoted as saying: "I am passionate about helping people find a way through conflict. To be able to do this work as part of the brilliant and caring family team at Irwin Mitchell is a dream come true."
She added: "I am passionate about the use of mediation to resolve conflict and transform relationship dynamics. If you want me to mediate for you, you know where to find me! I will continue to present my Sunday show on Classic FM."
Joanna's new role at Classic FM was announced in June, with her hosting a new show every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.
By joining Classic FM, she returned to her radio roots, having started as a reporter in local radio before moving to Independent Radio News.

Following Joanna's departure, a number of other popular presenters lost their hosting roles amid the channel shake up.
These included Jane Hill, Geeta Guru-Murthy, Martine Croxall, Ben Brown and Annita McVeigh.
