Holly Willoughby's second This Morning disappearance in a row is 'unusual' and there may be 'more than meets the eye'

THIS Morning viewers were left baffled after co-presenter Holly Willoughby failed to show up today for the second day running.

Holly, 39, did not appear as planned on Wednesday so guest presenter Alison Hammond, 45, filled in.

She told viewers that Holly was having “a well deserved day off”.

When Holly was absent again today, Davina McCall, 53, did the honours alongside the ITV daytime show’s regular presenter Phillip Schofield, 58. He said: “Holly’s having a day off. She’s back on Monday.”

Bemused fans were left wondering what had happened to Holly.

Carl Johnson wrote on Twitter: “Still no Holly then? Curiouser and curiouser. What’s the craic with holly then. Has phil had her banished?”

Another viewer tweeted: “Somethings going on with #ThisMorning weird about Holly having ‘days off’ when she was due to be on air.”

A third added: “Something is deffo going on second day holly willoughby has missed this morning.”

A TV insider said: “It is unusual, to say the least, for presenters not to turn up for work when they’re scheduled to be fronting a huge show.

“But when there seems to be little or no explanation for their absence that inevitably creates suspicion and concern among viewers.

“It suggests there may be much more to Holly’s disappearance than meets the eye.” ITV did not make a comment.
