Game of Thrones fans spot chilling clues Daenerys was destined to rule with The Night King before Arya’s assassination – The Sun

DAENERYS Targaryen met a bitter end in the final season of Game of Thrones.

The silver-haired leader, played by Emilia Clarke, descended into bloodlust during her attack on King’s Landing, burning civilians alive in the streets despite the capital’s surrender.

Many viewers found the moment jarring, accusing show bosses of reducing a complex character to madness in order to tie up loose ends.

However, some fans have now claimed that a completely different path was paved for the character.

Reddit user marisaann26 kicked things off by referencing Daenerys’ vision of the Iron Thrones covered in ice way back in season 2.

They went on to speculate that the Night King and Daenerys could have become a power couple of terrifying proportions.

“I believe that the Night King is after Dany to be either his new queen or to take over as queen,” they wrote.

“One way or another, both living dragons will die in battle,” they continued, laying out a manifesto for an alternative course of action.

“Distraught by losing her dragons, Dany will be persuaded to join the Night King to be reunited with her dragons, ie she gets her ice throne.”

They concluded: “In the history and lore of GoT, there is a story of the 13th commander of the Night Fort, who fell in love with ‘a woman made of ice’. She became his Ice Queen and they ruled together.”

The theory quickly gained momentum, with the post receiving plenty of upvotes and messages of agreement.

One like-minded viewer replied: “Oh I really do like this theory.

“I have always thought the ‘snow’ falling through the ceiling in her vision was actually ash, either after she conquers King’s Landing or after Cersei (Lena Headey) burns it with wildfire, but this would be a great ending.”

The comments come after fan called out issues with Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Daenerys’ frosty relationship in the final season.

Elsewhere, Game of Thrones fans were stunned when Drogon made a cameo appearance in the latest episode of Westworld.
