Emmerdales Roxy Shahidi declares war on ITV co-star amid new career move

Emmerdale star Roxy Shahidi has declared "war" on her co-star as she starts a new career.

The 39-year-old actress is best known for playing Leyla Cavangh in the ITV soap.

Leyla arrived in the village back in 2008 and soon struck up a relationship with David Metcalfe, who is played by Matthew Wolfenden.

The pair endured a turbulent romance before they split but away from the cameras, they enjoy a close friendship.

Roxy has taken to Instagram to joke why Matthew is getting more requests on Cameo.

She has recently joined the platform, which allows celebrities to send personalised messages to fans.

Matthew is also on Cameo and Roxy said she believes she should be getting more requests in a hilarious clip shared with her Instagram followers.

She captioned the post: "The Cameo war is on."

She said: "What I don't understand is I've been on Cameo for weeks and I've had literally two requests.

"Matthew jumps on it and in one day he's had about 25. Why? I'm funnier definitely and I just don't understand."

Fans were in hysterics as Matthew joined Roxy in the clip which was filmed during their break on the set of Emmerdale.

One fan penned: "Ha ha love it"

Another added: "Love it Roxy!!!!!"

"This is very funny xx", a third social media user said.

Over in Emmerdale, It's set to be a tough time for Leyla as she and husband Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) call it quits on their marriage.

It’s tense as they spend time together but their conversation soon runs out of steam.

Though they’ve tried, Leyla’s tearful as Liam declares their relationship is defined by tragedy, grief, loss and lies.

They both come to the conclusion that they’re no good for one other.
