EastEnders star Kellie Bright has opened up about the 'breakdown' of Linda and Mick Carter's marriage after the character had sex with Max Branning.
The soap actress, who plays Linda, revealed she thinks the character feels guilty for cheating on Mick, but she might not regret it.
Viewers saw Linda go back to Max (Jake Wood) and sleep with him behind her hubby Mick's (Danny Dyer) back.
The star explained: "I don't know whether she regrets it, but she can't quite believe it’s happened. I think she feels immediately guilty and shameful about it."
Mick and Linda have been facing relationship issues for months as Mick has been going through turmoil after he realised he'd been sexually abused by his carer Katy Lewis when he was a child.
Linda didn't know how to help Mick as his mental health was spiralling out of control.
She put on a stunning dress to get his attention, but she was left hurt when he continued to push her away.
Linda then turned up at Max's house and begged him to give her a drink.
Despite knowing Linda is a recovering alcoholic, Max gave her some booze.
They ended up sleeping together.
Kellie continued: "In the moment she wanted it, 100%. It's more the fact that she can't quite believe what’s happening to her life. I think she thinks – how am I here? How has this happened? How am I waking up in another man's bed? How has this happened to me?
"I think she is furious with Max, but she is equally as furious with Mick for not doing anything, for not reacting.

"All she needs is for him to just do something, even if he calls her all the names under the sun. He’s not even doing that.
"She feels angry, but I don’t think she wanted to have that conversation. It’s all a bit of a rollercoaster for Linda. She wants to put the brakes on but she doesn’t know how."
Mick's turmoil and Linda's affair could be the last straw as the pair's marriage looks set to breakdown.
Kellie added: "I think because of the breakdown of communication, and such deep trauma in Mick that has completely changed him as a human being, and for Linda, she has betrayed the man she loves. Those things are massive."
EastEnders continues on Tuesday at 7pm on BBC One.
