Following the shock revelation that Gary Windass (Mikey North) was the one who killed her father, Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) is left reeling, but it’s not long before she comes up with a plan of revenge as she proves that she’s her father’s daughter through and through – by hiring someone to kill Gary .
‘It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for!’ Millie Gibson told us. ‘It’s a full arc of my whole storyline. Her whole world just completely shatters.’
In the aftermath of the huge shock of discovering what Gary did, Millie says that her character starts to change.
‘You slowly start to see this cold… almost like her dad is coming in to her personality,’ she says. ‘You sort of see Kelly start turning into Rick Neelan. In that sense it’s just a completely new personality for her.’
We’ve seen Kelly’s personality change a lot over him time in the Street as she’s settled in with Gary and Maria (Samia Longchambon), and become a firm ally to people like Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows).
‘I think all the good morals she’s gained over the years are completely wiped from her memory and all she can think about is her dad and his morals and the ways he acts and deals with situations,’ Millie says.
‘You sort of see him take over her personality. I’m excited to see how it comes across because it’s like Kelly Neelan is a proper Neelan in this storyline, she’s not the new Kelly that she’s found herself to be. She really starts to change in the period after she finds out about her dad.’
We know that Rick was capable of terrifying violence, but how far will Kelly go to avenge his death?
