Laura Hamilton was tasked with finding the perfect holiday home for Bob and Lucretia during today’s repeat of A Place in the Sun. The Channel 4 presenter got off to a tricky start but was luckily able to provide the couple with a few viable options with their £100,000 budget. However, when she suggested they take some time to consider the properties they’d seen, Bob and Lucretia shut her down.
At the start of the search, Bob and Lucretia explained their property purchase was part of a five-year plan.
The couple wanted to use the space as a holiday home before renting it out when they make a permanent move to Italy once their son has left home.
Bob and Lucretia had £100,000 to spend and hoped to find a property they loved but also one that would be a viable business opportunity.
Laura’s search didn’t get off to a great start but she improved drastically with her second offering.

After the trio had viewed the two-bedroom house in Francavilla Fontana, Bob appeared to be lost for words.
“Are you emotional?” Laura questioned and he replied: “No, I’m not but it’s just such a lovely find.”
“It’s going to be tough to beat, you’ve got your work cut out.”
The presenter tried to impressed the couple with her next two properties but neither suited the couple.
However, Laura’s fifth selection led to Bob questioning whether it was possible they could afford the villa.
“You do know our budget?” Bob asked Laura as they stood outside the four-bedroom property.
“Yes, I do know your budget and this is on the market for £104,000,” she replied.
Bob and Lucretia were stunned as Laura explained the owner had recently reduced the price from £122,000.

As they took a look around the grounds, Bob noted: “The annexe looks brand new.”
“Lucretia will be in that pool,” Laura joked and Bob quipped: “We would actually go for an underground pool.”
Once the couple had seen the rest of the property, the couple confirmed the villa was their favourite offering.
Lucretia remarked: “We absolutely love it,” and Bob added: “It’s the dream house.”

“Anything about it you can find fault with?” Laura asked and they both replied: “No.”
“Do you want to take some time to think about what to do next?” Laura said.
Lucretia hit back: “No we don’t want to think,” and Bob agreed: “We want to put an offer in on this.”
The couple had their offer of £100,000 rejected but luckily accepted the owner’s counteroffer of £101,500.
A Place in the Sun airs on Channel 4 on weekdays at 3pm.
