A woman convicted of manslaughter after chopping off her evil dad's penis is set to open her own food truck.
Following her three year stint behind bars for killing her evil father Eric Goodridge in her New York City, US, flat, Brigitte Harris insisted in an interview last year, "I wasn't trying to kill him". Her act of blood-spilling rage erupted when she saw history repeating itself as Goodridge was set to forcibly take his granddaughters back to Liberia.
Both Brigitte and her sister claim to have been sexually abused by their father growing up in Liberia, so when they met him for the first time in years, rage consumed Brigitte at the sight of her nieces sitting on his lap. This only escalated with Goodridge's decision to take the young girls back to Liberia with him.
Brigitte's attempts to convince her dad otherwise on July 28, 2007, resulted in her handcuffing him and gagging him with a towel so he couldn't scream for help. The then 26-year-old pulled out a scalpel and severed his todger before dumping it outside under the Rockaway Boardwalk in Far Rockaway.
She called the emergency services and was taken by her sister to Richmond University Medical Center psychiatric ward, rather than the nearest police station. After being discharged from the psychiatric ward on August 16, 2007, Harris was charged with second-degree and first-degree manslaughter. She said: "I felt that I had to stop him" and "take away his weapon".
Brigitte has since been calling on public support and generosity to help fund her dreams of becoming a street food chef of West African cuisine. Thanks to 572 donations, she is edging closer towards her goal of £20,000. Brigitte's GoFundMe page currently stands at almost £15,000 which she says will be spent on getting her business off the ground.
She announced on Instagram last week that the show will be on the road with a grand opening party on October 13.
She says: "There is a severe lack of West African cuisine in N.Y.C., and there is only one Liberian restaurant in the neighborhood of Clifton and Park Hill on Staten Island… Although my goal is to open a restaurant eventually, I decided to start with a food truck due to Covid and because it will be less expensive and to build a customer base.

"I am asking for help because my start-up costs are high. I found a great company, Roaming Hunger, that leases their trucks, but the down payment is $38,000." Brigitte breaks down where the donations will be spent from truck wrap design to a website and marketing.
Donors have shared words of encouragement for Brigitte, perhaps none more colourful than Folashade Ajayi's last week. They commented: "Bridgett is a hero. Thank you very much for cutting the b100dy d1ck and safeguarding your nieces and girls from s3xual abuse. Thank you for sending the devil back to hell."
