A Wetherspoon has made it into a top ten list of the best airport family restaurants not just in the UK but the world. Yep, the whole entire world.
Judging by the reaction to such a ranking, pub lovers and holidaymakers alike appear to be as surprised as you, dear reader. Having personally frequented The Windmill at London Stansted Airport in Essex, I can vouch for its superiority over its sister pubs at Gatwick's North and South Terminals.

Here at the Daily Star we cover plenty of pub news from pint price hikes to dine and dashers, check out our stories here.
For starters, it's not a frenzied scramble for a seat, weaving in between a maze of tightly packed tables and dare I say it, having to wait like a vulture over a carcass.
The staircase wraps around a brick windmill structure and not only does the pub have windows, plane spotters can eat and drink with all the entertainment of landings and take-offs.
What I can't do, however, is compare it to what the rest of the world has to offer.
The Family Vacation Guide analysed reviews of airport restaurants posted on the likes of Google and TripAdvisor, with three key questions in mind. What food options are there? Is there a children’s menu? Is it good value for money?
Remarkably it found Stansted's Spoons is the eighth best in the world with a score of four out of five. "Says a lot about airport restaurants globally," someone quipped.
"Nope, horrible. Went last week. The service and food was rubbish. They don’t even have the standard spoons menu options. They have ‘airport spoons menus’ which exclude so much of the normal menu and combo items."
Another commented: "Wouldn't set foot in there if it was the only one left, and all the other toilets were out of order." Well, the joke's on them as The Windmill has no loos.
"Well it's certainly the best value for money and time efficient which is why they are always busy in the airports."
Someone agrees with my fancy for the views on offer, a Facebook user wrote: "It Is! It's also got the best view at the back overlooking the airfield."
The Windmill, which is the Wetherspoon pub at Stansted Airport in north Essex, ranked at eighth best in the world with a score of four out of five. It's not the only Brit establishment on the list with Birmingham Airport's All Bar One mixing it with six US restaurants, one from Japan and one in Germany.
