Strictly Come Dancing tour postponed for a year due to coronavirus outbreak

The Strictly Come Dancing tour now won't take place until next year as the coronavirus outbreak continues to cripple the entertainment industry.

Pro Luba Mushtuk announced the news on Twitter, writing "On a positive note, it’s not cancelled and it’s still going to happen! We just all have to wait a little longer!

"Strictly Come Dancing – The Professionals 2020 UK Tour now scheduled for May and June of 2021! Looking forward to see you all then!"

A statement from Strictly bosses explained: "Due to recent government advice on Covid-19, we are sadly postponing the Strictly Come Dancing -The Professionals 2020 UK Tour scheduled for May and June."

With the UK currently in lockdown, and the Government urging people to stay at home, many iconic events such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight festival and Download festival have been pulled due to coronavirus.

While the Strictly tour has been postponed until next year, it is still unsure if the series will take place in September as the UK struggles to contain the life-threatening bug.
