After releasing an inaugural collaboration of graphic T-shirts in April, ©SAINT Mxxxxxx and A BATHING APE (BAPE) have reunited for a second team-up. This time around, the two streetwear imprints have concocted a vintage-inspired crewneck sweartshirt, boasting both labels’ signature motifs.
Galvanized by BAPE’s classic collegiate logo, the silhouette features the iconographic design on the front and back of its facade, with the two brands’ titular lettering surrounding the graphic. The sweater itself is an original design from ©SAINT Mxxxxxx, featuring a thick, contemporary fit with dropped shoulders.
Launched by Los Angeles-based artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt and READYMADE designer Yuta Hosokawa in 2020, ©SAINT Mxxxxxx hand-makes all of its designs in Japan with original prints and distressing. In line with the three-year-old label’s artistic ethos, the design adopts an authentically-aged appearance, with detailed sections that are damaged, discolored and cracked.
The new ©SAINT Mxxxxxx x BAPE collection will be available for pre-sale on November 3 at the Hankyu Umeda pop-up store. The collaboration will then go on sale on November 11 at BAPE stores and ©SAINT Mxxxxxx’s official retailers, as well as on BAPE’s webstore.
