The influence of the late Virgil Abloh cannot be understated — from diving deeper into the potential of collaborations with hit projects such as “The Ten” with Nike and redefining luxury fashion with both Off-White™ and his time at Louis Vuitton. One of the final projects that Abloh worked on is finally releasing — a Monster High collaboration via Mattel Creations that sees four Off-White™ runway looks recreated in doll form.
Leading the range, specter spirit Symphanee Midnight recalls Off-White™ FW20 — the show that introduced an elegant Arc’teryx collaboration. Recreating Bella Hadid’s leading look, the bridal-wear-inspired moment with a reimagined take on Arc’teryx outerwear has been accessorized with chain-link jewelry and a Jitney 1.4 bag. The brand’s SS17 presentation informed the following two dolls with Harmonie Ghoul sporting the show’s final look and Raven Rhapsody in look 26. Harmonie Ghoul, the franken-monster, is ready to groove with a tiered checkered dress and red knee-high boots that pop underneath. For gargoyle Raven Rhapsody, her luxe-meets-sport look is accompanied by wings and a horned hat while she also carries a black belt bag and neon pink logo earrings. Lastly, Electra Melody looks to the Princess Diana-inspired SS18 with the “DRESS” dress from look 11 paired with clear-wrapped heels and mismatched gloves. Compare the four dolls to their points of inspiration below and note that each one features special packaging designed for collectors.
