DEAR DEIDRE: I AM so scared my dogs will pick up Covid-19 that I’ve not been taking them out.
I am a woman of 41. Mum is with me for lockdown, as she is 68 and has depression.
Normally I walk my two dogs morning and evening.
I have a garden for them to play in and I’ve been paying them more attention than usual but I’m sure they miss their walks.
And they played up when I washed their paws.

DEIDRE SAYS: There is almost no risk of your dogs catching or passing on Covid-19. But they will suffer from missing walks and might develop behavioural problems.
When out, keep them at least two metres away from other people and dogs, on leads if need be.
Wash your hands and wipe them down when you get home with a pet-safe wipe or damp cloth.
See bluecross.org.uk for information about pets and the virus.
