Boston Bruins star winger David Pastrnak announced Monday morning that his recently-born son has died.
Viggo Pastrnak was born on June 17. He lived for 6 days before passing away on June 23. The Pastrnaks shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram.
“We have an Angel watching over us and we call him SON. You will be loved FOREVER,” Pastrnak captioned the photo. “Please respect our privacy as we are going through these heartbreaking times.”
The 25-year-old is coming off a 2021 season in which he ranked third on the Bruins in points. Pastrnak scored 20 goals while having 28 assists, totaling 48 points.
Last season, he won the Maurice Richard Trophy winner, given to the top goal-scorer in the league, ending the 2020 season with a total of 48 goals.
