Tyson Fury may be known to most as a long-reigning Heavyweight champion, but to his kids he’s just known as dad. 

The British professional boxer and his family are the subject of a new Netflix reality TV show, titled At Home with the Furys which aired on August 16, 2023. 

It follows Fury as he navigates family life, mental health struggles, retirement from boxing and his day-today family life, alongside wife Paris Fury. 

While there are many shocking moments, if one thing has surprised viewer’s the most its his children’s names. One of which, he claimed, came to him while he was sleeping.

What are Tyson Fury’s children called?

Tyson and Paris Fury are soon to have seven children, with the latest member of the family due in September 2023.

Fury’s eldest daughter, Venezuela, is 13 and was born on September 27, 2009. Speaking on the show, the teen told crew she gets along with her father ‘quite well’ even though she thinks he is ‘very strict’. 

She revealed that Fury was recently upset with her when she wore a mini dress, she explained: ‘He just doesn’t like me wearing makeup and looking nice.’

Adding: ‘Strict parents raise sneaky kids.’ 

His youngest daughter, Athena, faced a tough start when she was born in the intensive care unit on August 8, 2021. 

Sticking to the geographical theme, the two share another daughter named Valencia, aged five. 

Speaking on the decision behind his daughter’s names, he told The Guardian in 2011 that he dreamt them up.

He said: ‘One night, while I was sleeping, I thought of Venezuela. My wife is called Paris. I’m Tyson and [gesturing to his son] he’s called Prince John James. 

‘If the girl had a normal name it wouldn’t fit in, would it? I wanted to call the boy Patrick but the wife didn’t want it.’

Why are three of his children named Prince?

Perhaps what came as the biggest to surprise to viewers, is that all three of his sons are named Prince. 

The theme began in 2011, when Prince John James was born, adding another in 2016, Prince Tyson II, and the last Adonis Amaziah, in 2019. 

Fury elaborated in his 2020 documentary: ‘I’m a king and they’re princes until they earn their rightful name.’

On March 23, 2023, Tyson and Paris announced they were expecting their seventh child together.  

Sharing a picture to his Instagram Story, he wrote in the caption: ‘I get to date night with my beautiful pregnant wife @ParisFury1. God is great!’

Molly Mae, Love Island star and Tyson’s sister-in-law married to Tommy Fury commented at the time: ‘What a blessing. So happy for you both’.
