Does Ree Drummond want to be a grandmother soon? According to The Pioneer Woman star, having grandchildren isn’t on her radar right now, nor does she have baby fever. Drummond posed with a friend’s baby in a recent Instagram photo and was quick to shoot down the idea of having another baby or becoming a grandma, though her fans think it’ll be great for her when the time comes.
Ree Drummond isn’t thinking about grandchildren just yet
Drummond’s daughter Alex is newly married but The Pioneer Woman star doesn’t seem in a hurry for her daughter to have kids just yet. In an Aug. 12 Instagram post, the Food Network star shared a photo of her holding a friend’s cute baby as she smiled.
Drummond went on to answer the obvious questions about whether she’s thinking of having another baby or wants a grandchild. The answer to both of these is no.
“Does it make me want to have another baby? No,” she wrote in the caption. “Does it make me want grandchildren? No. (Not yet anyway pls…).”
‘The Pioneer Woman’ praised her longtime friend
Drummond went on to celebrate the baby’s mother, a dear friend of the family. “BUT it does make me so happy and filled with joy to hold Cate, my good friend Haley’s gorgeous baby girl,” Drummond continued. “Haley was a little girl when I married Ladd 25 years ago, she babysat my children when she was in high school and college, and now — as a grown woman (superwoman, really) — she works for me.”
She added, “I say superwoman because Haley is just one of those special humans who quietly and intuitively and constantly helps and gives and does, without seeking a speck of recognition. Hey, I thought this post was going to be about Baby Cate! But it wound up being about Haley. She’s a good one.”
Fans weighed in on the idea of Ree Drummond being a grandma
Drummond’s adoring fans had plenty to say about her being a grandmother at some point. “I mean Nana Ree has a solid ring to it … someday,” one fan commented.
“You’re definitely going to LOVE being a grandmother. It’s the greatest JOY in my life,” another fan wrote.
Others weighed in with their thoughts on Drummond becoming a grandmother, with comments like, “You look so natural… you’re going to be a great grandma,” “You would make a beautiful grandma,” and “You will be the best grandma! All those yummy cookies!”
Other fans were divided. One commenter shared, “I can’t believe you don’t want grandkids yet!,” while another praised Drummond’s decision to wait. “Thank you for saying you don’t want to be a grandmother yet. I have one left in high school, 19 and a 24-year-old and I want to enjoy some me-time for a few years,” they explained.
