Ryan Thomas has shared a touching tribute to his late dad Dougie James, alongside daughter Scarlett.
Taking to Instagram, former Coronation Street actor Ryan told his followers that ever since his dad sadly passed away last month, he’s been spending time riding the horses he owned to keep his memory alive.
The 36 year old continued to say that he also wanted Scarlett, his daughter with ex partner Tina O’Brien, to ride them to continue Dougie’s legacy.

Ryan posted a photo of Scarlett riding one of the horses and a video of himself galloping around the stables, writing: “Is it a coincidence or a symbol that my dad owned 3 horses & has 3 sons.”
“Either way these horses were his life now I’m going to make them mine, this last few weeks I’ve spent time at the stables trying to build a bond with them & I know seeing his grandchild riding his horse would make him so proud,” he continued.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star added that he made a promise to his dad shortly before he passed, and that he’s determined to make that dream a reality.

Ryan concluded: “It’s been such along time since ive rode horses hence why I came off but before he passed I said to him I wanted to ride his horse down the beach.”
“The moral of the story ' If you fall off the horse you get back on' never give up!! I will get to that beach one day promise Dad.”
This comes a few days after Ryan, who is the older brother of ex Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas and Love Island’s Scott Thomas, wrote a moving tribute dedicated to his dad.

Posting a black and white childhood snap of his dad holding him as a child, Ryan reflected on his dad’s amazing life and career.
He said: “You are the reason I’m proud to be a Thomas, since being a young child I’ve always been in awe of you, growing up watching you on the stage to people stopping me in the street saying "are you Dougie James’s son?" is something I love more than you will ever know.”
Ryan then thanked everyone for their well wishes and those who attended the funeral ceremony where Dougie was laid to rest.
He explained: “Just wanted to take this time to thank every single person for coming out to the Chapel on Friday one of the hardest days of my life but it’s times like this you realise how important your friends and family are.”
“We were overwhelmed with the amount of people who turned up to show there respect he really was loved in Manchester, there were moments at the chapel I’d feel myself looking at all the people with a big smile on face thinking "that’s my dad!!!!" so glad I got to show you off one last time.”
Rounding off his emotional message, Ryan gave a special mention to his two brothers, saying they have given him strength in a difficult time.
“Dad you always said to me buying you a van was the best gift I ever gave you, I want you to know the best gift you ever gave me was my brothers I couldn’t of done this without you both love you boys.”
