Former Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh, 44, has issued a warning about DIY hair treatments while speaking to The One Show guest’s Twiggy during tonight’s episode of the BBC programme. The star, who stepped in to host the show this evening while regular presenter Alex Jones is away, admitted her boyfriend Scott Ratcliff, 31, transformed her brunette locks during the coronavirus lockdown, but unfortunately not for the better.
Kym got onto the subject while quizzing the iconic model about whether she has visited the hair salon yet since they reopened during the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Twiggy explained: “I’m a little bit wary still and I probably wouldn’t go for a haircut but what I really miss is having my highlights done.
“So I’ve got darker roots at the moment and a blonde end.”
Kym then shared her hair mishap when she asked her beau to help her out with dyeing her hair at home.

She warned Twiggy: “Just don’t do what I did and get your partner to dye it because I ended up with what looked like a black wig.
After her revelation prompted giggles from her co-host Amol Rajan and Twiggy, she reassured them: “It’s calmed down now, it’s fine.”
Kym’s comments about her beau’s hair styling mistake come after she admitted she finds it “patronising” when people refer to her partner as her “toyboy”.
While addressing 11-year age gap in her relationship with Scott in her column for OK! Magazine in May, the soap star referred to critical comments about 46-year-old actress Kate Beckinsale’s relationship with 22-year-old musician Goody Grace.
“Kate, who is 46, said she that men can do whatever they like but it can feel like a ‘political act when women over 32 have any fun at all’. I totally agree with her.”
Kym continued: “I’m with a younger man.
“Scott is 32 and I’m almost 44, I hate when people describe him as my ‘toyboy’, as I think it’s patronising to him!”
Pointing out a double standard between men who date younger women and women who are in relationships with younger men, the actress went on to insist “age is just a number”.

The star added: “Men are often with much younger women and no one bats an eyelid, but when it’s the reverse, people seem to judge.
“I’m in the best relationship of my life and Scott and I have so much in common.
“Age is just a number,” Kym concluded.
The couple recently reunited after being apart for seven months, as Scott is a major in the Parachute Regiment in the army and had been away on a tour of duty.

She took to social media at the time to share a loved-up picture of the pair enjoying a date night at home.
Kym wrote: “Finally having a date night with my man!”
The actress went on to say: “7 months apart but it’s amazing to see how our relationship has grown despite the distance.”
In view of her 403,000 Instagram followers, Kym continued: “In these difficult times make time for each other.
“Grab the dinner or a drink together. Love each other. Appreciate each other,” she added.
