It’s been over two years since reality queen Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kanye West – the father of her four kids: North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, four.
As the couple's divorce took years to finalise, 42 year old Kim embarked on other public relationship in that time and dated Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson, who is 13 years her junior, for nine months before calling it quits in summer last year.
The pair met in 2021 when Kim hosted the show, and sparks flew when they kissed during the programme's now infamous Aladdin skit.
To outsiders, it also seemed to be the real deal, as Pete appeared on her family’s Hulu show The Kardashians, walked the Met Gala red carpet with Kim, bonded with her kids and even got “my girl is a lawyer” tattooed on him. Not to mention branding his body with Kim’s name.
The SKIMS founder has now been single for as long as she was with Pete and it seems she is thoroughly embracing single life.
Kim has now featured on an episode of Jay Shetty’s podcast, On Purpose, and opened up about learning from her past “mistakes” in terms of relationships.
When asked if she feels ready to “be in love again,” Kim revealed that she thinks she’ll “always be a hopeless romantic and always want to be in love.”
“I definitely love sharing my life with someone, and love creating a life with someone,” she added, before noting that this time around, she’ll “definitely take [her] time.”
“I think there’s so many factors, especially when you have kids and being mindful of people that enter in your life,” she confessed when speaking about dating after a divorce.
“If I can look at everything that I did wrong and try to not make the same mistakes, and really take my time. I think it just has to be different for me.”
Kim then described navigating the dating scene as a “hard place to be in,” due to everything that comes with a new romance.
However, she did reveal that she’ll “always believe in love” and will “always want that.”
Back in September, Kim spoke to James Corden about the type of person she might hope to date in the future, joking that being with someone within her industry “clearly” isn’t working out.
“Maybe [I’ll go to] a hospital and meet a doctor, [or] a law firm,” she mused.
“I think it’s gonna be a scientist, neuroscientist, biochemist, doctor, attorney. That’s maybe what I envision in the future,” she added.
