Kate Garraway flooded with messages of support from fans as husband Derek continues coronavirus battle

Kate Garraway has been flooded with messages by fans who are sending well wishes as her husband Derek Draper continues to fight coronavirus in intensive care.

Derek, 52 has been in hospital for over two months after being put in the ICU on 30 March.

Good Morning Britain host Kate has been updating fans on her husband's journey, with many of her followers sending messages of support.

One fan shared a video of a patient leaving hospital after 62 days, writing: "I hope this will be you soon.

"This lady's husband leaving hospital after 62 days of covid treatment. Thinking of you all [sic]"

A second told the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star: "Sending you love hope & strength, your husband is in our thoughts n prayers, as all your family are [sic]"


A third added: "Just to let you know Kate we are still thinking of you and your family at this difficult time my prayers are with your husband and his recovery."

Another said: "sending love and prayers that hubby recovers soon and wishing you continued strength. Just wanted you to know we’re thinking of you at this difficult time [sic]"

With a final fan writing: "Again, no words, just sending…" alongside a number of red love heart emojis.

On Monday, Kate revealed she has been keeping strong for her children Darcey, 14, and Billy, 10, while their dad continues his fight.

She wrote on social media: "I felt the tears come to think it's coming to an end while our fear for Derek goes on."

She added, referring to the weekly Clap For Carers: "But even if we don't clap next Thursday it won't diminish my eternal thanks to all in the #NHS.

"They are keeping Derek alive & every one of them is fighting as hard as Derek is to give us the chance to be reunited.

"It's not easy but when I think of how hard Derek is fighting & the bravery of all in the #NHS it helps."
