Mark Jefferies shares update as Jamie Lynn Spears quits I’m A Celeb
Jamie Lynn Spears became the second celebrity to quit I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, with a spokesperson for the show noting her exit was due to medical reasons.
While she made an early exit from the jungle, the 31-year-old lasted far longer on the ITV show than her other reality competition stunts earlier this year.
In January, Jamie Lynn took part in the first season Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test which puts celebrities through the grueling trials and tests led by ex-special forces operatives in even harsher conditions.
The younger sister of Britney Spears was in good company with the likes of Mel B alongside her, but only managed to endure two days on the show.
She was the fifth celebrity to hand in her number after confiding in the Spice Girl that she couldn’t take “one more night” in the harsh conditions in Jordan.
In a confessional, Jamie Lynn shared: “I miss my children when I’m away from them for a couple of hours. So this is a very big leap for me.”
In tears, the mother-of-two continued: “Being away from them like this, even if it’s something for myself, makes me feel like a c**p mom.
“They didn’t ask for their mom to be gone.”
Jamie’s exit from the Fox show ushered a host of criticisms her way, with viewers claiming on X that she wasn’t being truthful, as one declared: “Girl, u probably did miss your kids but that’s not why u quit.” (sic)

Others seemingly enjoyed seeing the former Disney star struggle, writing: “There is something metaphoric about jamie lynn spears not being able to last three days on this special forces reality show, while britney, on the other hand, suffered through a conservatorship for 13 years.”
However, the candid tears for her children did win over some viewers for the Zoey 101 actress, as one fan gushed: “It was really good to see that she is trying to live as normal a life as possible and raising her kids.”
During her time on I’m A Celeb, the US pop star shed some more tears over missing her children during the first few days and was slated as the most likely to quit first by bookies.
However, food critic Grace Dent became the first to exit on medical grounds, shortly followed by Jamie with the same reason after more than a week in the jungle.
I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV at 9pm.
