Emma Heming Willis takes kids to meet Bruce’s wax figure
A close friend of Bruce Willis has given a heartbreaking update on his condition, revealing that he is now “not totally verbal”.
Writer Glenn Gordon Caron has been a longtime collaborator and friend of Wills, starting with their 1980s sitcom Moonlighting when the action star was just 29 years old.
Having watched his Hollywood friend rise to fame and immense stardom, Glenn has been candid about the heartbreaking progression of Bruce’s dementia.
The 68-year-old stepped back from his iconic Hollywood career after being diagnosed with aphasia, which affects patients’ memory and language skills, however, the diagnosis has since progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD) as his family announced earlier this year.
While his wife and now carer Emma Heming Willis has been an outspoken advocate for carers and raising awareness around the neurological illness, fans have rarely received an update on the Die Hard star’s health.
Glenn has shared a devastating insight into Bruce’s well-being, revealing that his dementia is undoubtedly progressing.
He told Page Six that the actor is losing his “language skills” as he’s not as verbal as he used to be and has lost his “joie de vivre”, or enjoyment and excitement for life, adding: “There is no one who had any more joie de vivre than he.’
Glenn confessed that although Bruce hoped no one would ever know what a “voracious reader” he was, he doesn’t even read anymore.
The Medium creator emphasized that “he’s still Bruce” but feels that the actor only knows who he is for the first few minutes of their meeting.
The writer has tried to visit his A-list pal every month since his aphasia diagnosis but admitted he hasn’t always been able to but keeps in contact with Bruce’s older daughters and has “tried very hard to stay in his life”.

Bruce has a tight-knit family unit supporting both him and his wife Emma as she takes care of her husband and their two young daughters, 11-year-old Mabel and nine-year-old Evelyn.
The actor and Emma are still close with his ex-wife Demi Moore and the three adult daughters they share, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah.
The Willis/Moore family has also had some high peaks in recent months alongside the Glass star’s decline as Bruce and Demi became grandparents for the first time earlier this year.
Their eldest daughter, 35-year-old Rumer, welcomed her baby girl Louetta Isley Thomas Willis with her partner Derek Thomas in April.
