BGT star Charlotte Jaconelli shares pic of ex-partner Jonathan a decade after final

Britain’s Got Talent star Charlotte Jaconelli has shared a photo of her and ex-partner Jonathan Antoine to mark ten years since the duo wowed audiences on the talent show.

Charlotte and Jonathan, then 16 and 17, won the hearts of the nation as an opera singing duo when they appeared on the show in 2012, with Jonathan famously deciding to stick with Charlotte after Simon Cowell suggested he perform alone.

To celebrate ten years since their journey began, Charlotte shared a photo of ex singing partner Jonathan to commemorate the passing of a decade since they appeared on the show.

Sharing a photo of them performing on the show together, Charlotte wrote: “My @bgt final was 10 years ago today”.

Then referring to the amount of views their performance has on YouTube she wrote: “14.2 million views LOL”.

Charlotte and Jonathan first met at West Hatch High School in their hometown of Chigwell, Essex when they were 11 years old. A chance suggestion by their singing teacher that they should try singing together was what encouraged them to audition for Simon Cowell's talent show.

The pair went on to be runners up on the show, coming in behind dancing dog Pudsey, with the pair going on to have successful singing careers, including performing on arena tours and selling over two million albums.

However, after releasing two albums together, the pair decided to part ways after being offered solo albums with Sony Classical.

Jonathan has admitted that he and Charlotte don't talk anymore, as busy schedules made it hard to stay in contact.

Following parting ways with Jonathan, Charlotte, who’s now 26, went on to drama school in London and made her West End debut in 2018 as an ensemble member of the original UK Heathers The Musical Cast, which starred Carrie Hope Fletcher.

Following this, she went on to be an original member of RSC show, The Boy in the Dress, based onDavid Walliamshit children's book and featuring songs from Robbie Williams.

Meanwhile, Jonathan, who’s now 27, continued his performing career as well.

In the years that followed BGT Jonathan managed to reach number one in the Classical Artist Album chart with his first solo album Tenore.

The young classical singer has also worked with Mexican operatic tenor Rolando Villazón and Italian pianist Leone Magiera, who worked with Pavaroti.

He has recently spoken about opting to live a healthier lifestyle after losing a substantial amount of weight following his time on the show.

Speaking to The Mirror he explained how previously he had "lacked discipline".

He said: "I've still got a lot to lose but I'm making my way.

"I feel stronger and healthier than I have in 10 years, which is a lot.

"This year I've made an active choice. I've felt I've lacked the discipline a lot. When I was out in America its fast food everywhere.

"I was in a terrible state in the start of the year and I've been able to claw my way back doing light exercise.

"I'm a very big fella so heavy exercise would just tear me up. I'm working my way up, thinking about what I eat because that is important."
