]]>So if you want a smooth-sailing December 25th, but with the tastiest food ever, you’ll need to check this out.
And even if you’re not a fan of sprouts, ‘Michelin-trained chef turned potato queen’ Poppy O’Toole, claimed that these will convince anyone that sprouts are superior.
Sharing her simple recipe on social media, Poppy claimed that all you need to do is ‘shove’ your ingredients into the air fryer, for this ultimate festive side dish.
In a clip captioned ‘The easiest way to get delicious sprouts’, Poppy explained: “These are possibly the best sprouts you will ever try.
“And they're all made in the air fryer, not one other step – you just throw it all in.
“It's very, very simple and it will convince anybody who does not like sprouts, that sprouts are a superior veg.
“I love them personally. I think they're like little mini cabbages and they're absolutely delicious.”
If you fancy following Poppy’s recipe, all you need to do is: “Get your sprouts cut in half into a bowl with some melted butter, salt and pepper.
“Then tip that straight into your air fryer. You don't need to do anything else.

“I've got some bacon lardons which are already chopped from the shop. They're just gonna go and sit on top.
“Then you get that into air fryer at 180 degrees for five minutes.
“Then you gonna get some chopped chestnuts, you know the ones that are in the pack ready to go.
“Just give them a chop and after that five minutes, throw them in there as well, give it another little toss and put it back on for another 10 minutes – five to 10 minutes or so.”
Once the cooking time was over, Poppy served up her delicious dish and continued: “And you'll have these beautiful and bloomingly lovely cooked sprouts.
“You'll have crispy bacon bits and those lovely chestnuts, having a little bit of Christmassy sweetness.
“And then you can serve it straight away with your Christmas dinner.
“It's that easy you can actually make this on the day.
“And sprouts are the best. Please, I promise you.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @poppycooks, has clearly left many totally stunned, as it was shared just 14 hours ago, but has quickly racked up a staggering 230,300 views.

Another added: “My grandad’s going to do this on Christmas Day now!”
A third commented: “I hate sprouts but these look actually soo goood.”

]]>One influencer has revealed how much her extreme beauty regime costs – with the blonde bombshell spending more than most people pay in rent!
Whilst you might want to feel like a million buck, it might actually cost that much to look your best as beauty treatments can soon rack up.
Beyonce once sang that ‘pretty hurts’ we just didn’t realise she meant our wallets, as the average woman spent over £135 on haircuts in 2020 – according to YouGov.
Even if you don’t spend all your time in the salon, the odd manicure, waxing appointments or even a cheeky pedicure before going on holiday means you can easily spend hundreds of pounds on beauty.
Influencer Blair Walnuts, however, has revealed that her beauty bill is even higher though, in an eye opening video on Tiktok.
Responding to a comment calling her a '12 out of 10' on the app, the Youtuber later shared her extensive routine.
In a now viral video, she admitted that maintaining her platinum blonde locks cost $2000 (£1582.10) per month.
Though you might be wondering how touching up her roots could be that expensive, it wasn’t the only shocking expenditure she had.
Rather than go to her local nail bar, she showed herself getting a manicure at a high end boutique – with her being billed over $300 (£237.31) every month.

Despite spending already over nearly £2000 a month, the vlogger also splashed out on making sure her body was in tip top shape.
In addition to her beauty treatments, Blair also hired a personal trainer to put her through her paces.
However, our heart rates were raised when the young woman revealed that her fitness routine cost $100 (£79) per session.
Even if she only went once a week, that is another $400 to add to her beauty budget.
Like many women, she is also keen to keep aging to a minimum and has had various tweakments to stay looking youthful.
With a combination of filler and botox, the influencer estimated that she paid $2,500 (£1977) for her various injections – ouch!
If that weren’t enough to make you wince, Blair also revealed that she’d spent a staggering $10,000 (£7910) to get the perfect button nose.
In total, that’s over $15,200 (£12k) on beauty treaments just with the items mentioned in her viral video.
Though she might be happy with her looks, not everyone was so convinced that this extreme routine was worth the money.
One commenter even questioned it was whether it was making the influencer happy, as she felt so much pressure to keep up her looks.
They wrote: “That’s sad though.”
Another added: “U don’t even need surgery…u r already 10/10”
Others were more impressed by her honesty and even praised Blair for being so open about her finances.
“I love how transparent you are! This really helps ppl with body image. You were [fire] then, now and forever,” gushed a third.
“You are so real for this,” comment another impressed user, with a fifth saying that Blair’s routine was ‘worth it’.
Many also wanted to undergo the same surgical procedures, even asking for her surgeon's name.
Whilst you might want to recreate her look, just make sure you balance the books first.

]]>The post I was left nearly blind after eyebrow botch job – Xmas was ruined, it felt like my face was cooking | The Sun appeared first on irideat.
]]>The mum-of-two, 24, from Telford, Shropshire, had treated herself to an eyebrow procedure as an early Christmas gift.
She had been busy caring for her two young daughters with birthday and Christmas preparations so her and mum Angelina, went out to finish their Christmas shopping on December 14.
Both had their eyebrows tinted and threaded from a popular high street store as a pre-Christmas present – something they'd had before.
Megan says: “My youngest daughter, Gracie, had turned one on December 6 and so I’d had a birthday party to organise. I was also mum to Laila, now four.
“So, like all busy mums with little ones, I’d not had much time for Christmas shopping. And certainly, no time for beauty treatments.
“When Mum suggested a day out, picking up last minute gifts and making ourselves look beautiful, it sounded perfect.
I’d seen a lovely baby doll advertised on TV which I knew Laila would love. And I wanted to get some aftershave for my husband, Brett, too.
“I was really looking forward to getting my eyebrows done, in time for Christmas and New Year parties. I’d had the procedure done before, so I knew pretty much what to expect, though this time it did seem to be over with very quickly.”
After Megan got home, her eyebrows began tingling and burning.

She says: “My mum said hers were a bit tingly too, so I ignored it. But as the days passed, they got worse and worse. My forehead was really hot, and my eyebrows were swollen. The pain kept me awake and I felt as though I had thousands of tiny needles stabbing at my eyebrows.
“I tried different gels and creams and lay with a wet cloth on my face, but nothing helped.”
Four days later, Megan’s face was so swollen that she was unable to see and was rushed to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, Shropshire.
Megan says: “It felt like my face was cooking. It was so painful and so scary. I had no idea what was happening to me. We called a doctor, and he advised Brett that I needed to go straight to hospital.
“By now it was December 18, just a week to Christmas 2021, and I had so many plans with my daughters. But I knew my health was more important.”
Doctors confirmed she’d suffered an extreme allergic reaction, and she was admitted to hospital for treatment.
Megan says: “It was so frightening when it started to affect my vision – I was worried I might go blind. My face just kept on swelling. I never expected to have such an extreme reaction to such a common beauty treatment.
“I felt awful for my daughters too. I had booked breakfast with Santa with them later that day and I had to miss it. We were supposed to be dressing up in our Christmas outfits and going to meet Santa and his elves, over croissants and hot chocolates. Laila had been so excited about it, crossing the days off on the calendar.
“We missed our trip to the grotto. I tried to persuade them to go without me, but they didn’t want to. Our Christmas was completely ruined.”
Our Christmas was completely ruined
Megan was given strong antibiotics and creams before being able to return home and recover.
She says: “Christmas morning came, and I did my best to join in and celebrate with the girls. But every time I smiled, the pain shot through my face.
“Over New Year, we had arranged to see friends, but I cancelled those plans too.
“It felt worse that this was completely avoidable. It wasn’t as if I had an illness. If only I hadn’t booked my eyebrow treatment, our Christmas would have been completely different.
“It took almost a month for my face to go back to normal. All through January 2022, I hid myself away. And even then, when I began going out with the children, I felt so self-conscious. It felt as though everyone was staring at my eyebrows.”
She says: “I just want to warn people that this can happen. I got my eyebrows done to make my Christmas special – but it was ruined.
“I didn’t go out all over Christmas. My daughters missed out on so much too. My only Christmas wish this year is to spend time with my family.."

"This might have been the hardest dematting we've ever done," Leda began the video on her Instagram page.
"This was about two years old, this mat, so we had to really pick at it slowly."
She added that while they used a lot of products, including detanglers and special brushes, it was actually down to the "patience" of her team that they got the matting undone.
"This did take 10 hours, there was four stylists," she said.
"I actually had to leave at a certain time and before I left I heard something that was shocking to me.
"I said, 'How are you hanging in there?' She's like, 'Honestly, my permanent headache is gone'.
"And I was like oh wow.

"This matting was like a helmet on her hair."
After they finally managed to get rid of the matting, they "danced a happy dance" and gave her hair a good wash, with an added scalp massage.
Lena ended the Instagram video by showing off the woman's "beautiful" curls, and revealing she was "so freaking happy" with her finished look.
"This was a long, long day but a lifechanging day," she concluded.
"We are a judgement free zone," Lena added in the caption.
"So proud we got the job done without sacrificing any of her hair".
And people in the comments section admitted they were stunned that they'd managed to remove the matting without having to cut her hair at all.
"This brought tears to my eyes," one wrote.
"I’m so happy you were about to save her hair without cutting it.
"It’s sad to see people suggesting that in the comment section."
"You saved her from having to cut it all off!!" another praised.
"Fantastic work. She has beautiful hair."
"Good for you and I’m so happy for her," a third comment, which came from actress Patricia Arquette, read.
"I imagine she has been through a lot in her life. May she have a beautiful next chapter.
"What a gift you have given her and she has given herself for this new beginning!"
"Well done team!" someone else wrote.
"Not to that extent but been there with my kid's hair and phew it takes a special place to tap into!"
"So glad her permanent headache is gone," another said.
"Awesome work!"
"That must have been such a relief for her, thank you for making a judgement free sanctuary for her to come to for help and encouragement," someone else praised.
Others insisted they would have just cut the matting off, with one writing: "Why would you want to save that hair let alone spend hours and clearly hundreds of dollars?
"Cut most of it off & detangle & style the rest."
"I would just cut it,"another agreed.
But someone else hit back, writing: "It seems not enough people have empathy.
"People's hair gets matted for many reasons, could be that they couldn't because of injury, or illness, or a mental condition, but no matter the reason, this person deserves to have their hair back, deserves to keep their hair.
"I'm so glad there are people out there willing to help."

]]>The post I'm a gypsy – the crazy superstitions we believe in from never washing blankets in May to 'sitting up' after a death | The Sun appeared first on irideat.
]]>But one gypsy woman has revealed the little-known superstitions her family, friends and others in the traveller community follow – from never washing a blanket in May, to burning wagons when someone dies.
We spoke to Chantelle Devonshire, a 22-year-old gypsy wife from Cambridge, to find out the traditions that many travellers believe in.
Chantelle revealed the superstitions that many in her family obey – from never buying an outside brush in May, to ‘sitting up’ when someone dies, as well as the concept of luck money.
Chantelle told Fabulous: “Different travellers up and down the country have different beliefs.
“A lot of people think that we’re old-fashioned and don’t keep up with the times.
“Travellers like to keep the old traditions alive. I think that’s why a lot of them stick by their beliefs.”
Chantelle explained that many travellers hold superstitious beliefs about the month of May – and would never wash a blanket, cut their hair, or buy an outside brush during this month.
She revealed: “In the month of May, some travellers believe that if you buy an outside brush, it means that you’re going to swipe one of your family members away, like they’re going to die.
“You can’t wash a blanket in May, because you’ll wash your family away and you can’t cut your hair in May. My husband never used to cut his hair in May.
Family Dispute
AIR ME OUT
WHAT A HERO
GOOD GIFT
“That’s a real old one, even my granny remembered her mum talking about it.
“My granny was telling me a story about a man who bought a brush in May. A few months went past and the man came back and said that his son died and two other of his family members died.
“One time, my granny saw me washing a blanket in May and she was going on at me saying ‘you shouldn’t be doing that, you’re going to wash one of your family members away, just get another [blanket].’”
Not only this, but Chantelle explained that when someone in the traveller community dies, there are traditions that gypsies will follow.
She claimed that many will wear black for months and people will ‘sit up’ soon after the death.
She explained: “Travellers will dress in black for months out of respect when a close family member dies.
“My granny dressed in black for over a year when her mum died and she dressed in black for half a year when her granny died.
“It is out of respect, you’re showing respect to the dead.
“We all ‘sit up’ when someone dies. It’s to show your respect to the person that died and to their loved ones.
“I’ve been to places where we sat up and I didn’t really know the person that died but I went to show my respect to their family members I did know, and that’s how travellers are.
“When someone dies, you can expect quite a few people at their place.
“You will go to their place, the men will be outside round the fire, they normally put a marquee up and women will go in there and sit up.
“Some travellers sit up for weeks, some only sit up for a few days, it just depends how long they want to do that for.
“It’s basically where you sit and talk about the person who died. It’s all about showing respect.”
Not only will travellers ‘sit up’ after a gypsy’s death, but if a traveller who lived in a wagon died, many will burn their wagons following their death.
Chantelle continued: “When some elderly travellers die, the family will take everything out of the trailer and they will burn the trailer.
“The reason is they say that they don’t want anyone going to live in that home.
“It’s out of respect – they wouldn’t want someone else living in their trailer.”
Chantelle explained that many travellers believe in a variety of superstitions, which they hope will give them good luck.
Not only do they touch wood, but they also believe in a concept called ‘luck money’ too.
She claimed: “Travellers believe magpies are bad luck. They also believe in touching wood.
“If you talk to a traveller, many of them will say ‘touch wood that doesn’t happen’. They think that if they touch wood they will have good luck.
“Another traveller belief is luck money. My husband does this and nearly every traveller man I know does this.
“If a man is going to buy a dog or chalet or something, they will give them the money and then the person selling it will give them money back – luck money.
“It’s basically for them to have good luck with what they’ve just bought off of you.
“Even if they buy a chalet, I’ve seen people give £100 back.
“That’s a very common one, a lot of men do that.”
While all travellers are different, Chantelle explained that there are certain words that many travellers would never say.
She added: “There’s certain words travellers don’t say.
“My husband won’t say ‘ferret’.
“Lots of travellers won’t say ‘devil’, they’ll say ‘the muller’ instead.”
While there’s certain words many travellers avoid saying, there’s also sayings that a lot of them will use.
Chantelle revealed: “A lot of travellers will say ‘god bless’.
“If I saw an old woman in the shop, I would say ‘goodbye, god bless’.
“It’s a sign of respect, and is done to wish that person well.
“Travellers will make oaths too.
“If they say something and you don’t believe what they are saying, they will say ‘on my mother’s life’, or ‘I make oath on my granny’s life’, or ‘I won’t do it, I will make oath’ – that’s to prove you’re not lying.
“All my family do that.”

]]>The post Fashion expert shares formula for the perfect Christmas outfit appeared first on irideat.
]]>Whether it’s for Christmas day itself or another festive occasion – think parties, work do’s or evening plans, finding the perfect seasonal outfit can be a headache.
That said, one fashion expert has made it easier than ever to put together an affordable and flattering look with her expertise.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Susie Nelson, founder of Modes & More Vintage said: “Christmas is a time for people of all ages to dress up, even if for the rest of the year they prefer to wear muted colours.
“The most important thing to look for in a Christmas party or Christmas day outfit is comfort, plus something you feel happy wearing.”
She noted that with just “a bit of thought and imagination”, nearly all outfits can be “partied up” with the rich approach.
READ MORE: River Island dress slims bloated figures with clever ruched detailing for £35
She suggested: “Keep a classic or conventional lower half, such as black velvet or possibly leather trousers, and team it with a colourful top. This could be in Christmas classics – red or green, or sequins and sparkles which are all safe options
“There is a lot of metallic around with silver trousers, gold skirts and similar items dominating clothing racks. But velvet is a seasonal favourite, and this year is found in a wide range of colours and clothes.”
When it comes to finding something that flatters your features, it’s important to pay attention to things like your eyes, skin tone and hair colour.
Susie claimed: “Some beauty editors state that if you have a warm skin tone you’ll look great in red, coral and amber. If you have a cool skin tone, they suggest finding reds that are closer to maroon or rose. If your skin has a neutral undertone choose bluer shades or a bright true red instead.
“A simpler solution may be to take a photo of yourself wearing various shades/tones of green and /or red and select the one you feel happiest in.”

Most importantly, Susie’s approach to festive fashion means there’s no need to compromise on feeling confident while trying out some bolder looks.
She explained that when it comes to sourcing your Christmas ensemble, the best place to look is not in shops or online, but a little closer to home.
The fashion expert said: “Most people have more outfits in their wardrobes and cupboards than they realize, it could be an old favourite or something borrowed from friends or family. With a bit of thought and imagination, nearly all outfits can be partied up with the addition of large earrings, sparkly shoes or belt, red lips etc.”
With this in mind, Susie noted that there is one foolproof formula that people can use to craft a flattering look regardless of the specifics.
Of course, for those who prefer a plain outfit, there are plenty of seasonal accessories that can level up even the most basic looks.
The Modes & More Vintage founder unveiled her own festive “toolkit”, which she claimed “can easily transform a desk to drinks outfit”.
Susie explained: “Large earrings, red lipstick, eyeliner, a sparkly or colourful top, or sparkly shoes, belt, or bag should get you in the festive mood. Velvet hair bows and sparkly hairbands can also help. That said, plaid or tartan is an alternative for those not keen on the sequin route.
“When finding these items, the first stop should be your wardrobe, and if you find nothing there, try friends and family. All clothes, sustainable or not should be wearable, and nothing should fall apart after one wear.
“There are a lot of claims by fashion brands regarding sustainability, and it should be noted that just because something is expensive and claims to be sustainable it may be no more sustainable than a much cheaper alternative. One option is to hire a dress or outfit. This is a growing market, and companies such as Hurr have tied up with stores including Selfridges to offer a wide range of rental options.”
